Susan Nordman-Oliveira, MSIE
Research Scientist

Susan Nordman-Oliveira, M.S. Industrial Engineering, is a Research Scientist with the Center for Health Systems Research and Analysis at the University of Wisconsin Madison (CHSRA UW – Madison).

Susan is a Human Factors Engineer and Usability Analyst with a focus on human computer interaction as well having a degree in Special Education, adult education and sign language. Susan’s earlier research interests focused on special needs populations in the workforce and school to work transitions. Susan joined CHSRA in 2000 focusing on the nursing home Provider Initiative Project helping to mechanize the process, creating an online reporting system to help study and improve quality of care in Wisconsin nursing homes. In 2007, Susan helped create the Wisconsin - Clinical Resource Center (CRC) website, a clinical care informational website for nursing home clinicians. Susan is now the Principal Investigator of CRC and is also responsible for the expansion of the CRC project beyond Wisconsin. Susan has become a lead researcher on quality improvement in assisted living, helping establish the Wisconsin Coalition for Collaborative Excellence in Assisted Living (WCCEAL).

Currently, Susan is Principal Investigator for the Wisconsin - CRC, Texas – CRC and WCCEAL Website Development and Infrastructure projects. She is a Co-Investigator for the Improving Assisted Living Quality through Collaborative System Change - Wisconsin Partnership Community Impact Project (WCCEAL - WPP), Music and Memory plus iPad for Assisted Living, Park Family Foundation grant, as well as the Wisconsin Institute of Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) grant titled: WCCEAL as a Quality Improvement Dissemination and Implementation Vehicle for Falls Prevention in Assisted Living.
